Found within the “Elimo-Punic” barrier wall, it was one of the three entrances to the city centre. The origin of its name is synonymous to its location because it faces towards the city itself. Its actual aspect infers an adaptation to the style and needs for defence in Medieval times, in fact it is found between two bastions of protection.
