TORRE DELL'OROLOGIO COMUNALE

 

The Watch tower, which is about 27 metres high, overlooks the town.The town council had the tower built in the Piazza del mercato, and it was inaugurated on the 6th of March 1877; the hourly bell comes from the Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace) of Palermo, while the bell which chimes ever quarter of an hour was made on site by skilled workers from Burgio (Agrigento) .
