Angimbč Wood
Angimbč Wood in the north of the town represents an ecological niche of extraordinary beauty characterized by age-old cork oaks (Quecus suber). Singled out by the European Community as a SIC (Site of community importance) it covers 212 hectares and is managed by the State Forestry Commission. The ecosystem which may be unique to Sicily, permits numerous animal and bird species. The numerous pathways made by the Forestry Corps allow visits through the wood.
