The civic or clock tower in cement and iron was designed in 1987 by Alessandro Mendini, a famous architect and designer from Milan, who, with his brother, founded the atelier Mendini in 1989, where he continues to work. The tower is the fulcrum and the focal vertical axis of the Piazza del Municipio. About ten metres high, formed by two half-cones with two coloured wings coming out of them brightening the tower. Four times a day at 6.00, 8,00, 12.00, 17,00 20.00, the time is signalled by sounds which are never the same, created by popular chants elaborated by computer.
