PIAZZA MUNICIPIO

Also called piazza San Francesco due to the church of the same name which stands on it, the square is situated in the old urban centre of Vita which is characterised by typical constructions in chalk stone. Some injured soldiers were cured here during the battle of Calatafimi fought by Garibaldi and his Thousand who were joined by 25 volunteers from the town. Attached to the church is the Town Hall.
