MUSEO CIVICO
The museum holds some artefacts found in the archaeological sire of Segesta.
The two shelves in the form of the bow of a boat from the II century B.C., found in the house of the navarco (commanding officer), and the Italo-Corinth capital from the II-I century B.C. from the agora (main town square) are of particular importance.
There is also an important sculptural element from a theatre scene refiguring a satyr and a maenad, from Hellenistic times (III- II century B.C.).
Other than earthenware amphorae, oil lamps, clay weights and coins there are also some catapult lythic projectiles found near the Porta di Valle and a polychrome stucco frame with a Doric freeze from the second half of the II century B.C., found in the rocky settlement of Mount Barbaro.
