CHIOSTRO DI S. AGOSTINO

The fifteenth century monastery of the Padri Agostiniani is connected to the church of Sant’Agostino (centuries XIII-XVIII) with its elegant and harmonious cloister with porticos containing a stone well curb from the lower cistern. The activity of the fathers was particularly fervent and they even taught how to read and write.
The monastery is near the ancient Porta Aquila – Eagle Gate, from where the strada mastra started, today’s via Amendola.
