Undecorated on the outside, the church reclaims its architectural value on the inside, with the harmony of the large single nave and with the articulated vibrations of light and shade provoked by the strong trapezoidal poles and with the stuccoes on the vault and the apse.
Built in 1553 with a central nave and two side aisles, it was transformed into its present shape in 1724 to Giovanni Biagio Amico’s plans and it was improved in the second half of the same century with stuccoes. It holds valuable sculptures and paintings. The splendid painting depicting the Liberation of the souls from Purgatory by Pietro Novelli (1639), situated on the main altar is of particular importance.
