FONTANA ARABA

The Arabs built a fountain near a spring in the casale Alqamah. A strong earthquake at the end of '400, apparently damaged the fountain which was later rebuilt. With the transfer of city life to the castle, sheep-rearing activity began around the fountain which required the building of a drinking trough. The front has two troughs with pilasters with capitals on top. The drinking trough in pieces of calcareous travertine stone dates back to the first half of the nineteenth century.
