CHIESA SAN GIUSEPPE

San Giuseppe Church

The church (XIX century) gives its name to the district in which it lies. Planned as a private chapel for the marquis Spanò, it was supposed to have been built inside the Spanò baglio (rural fortified structure), but due to an agreement with the Canino family who donated the land, it was erected where it stands today. It has a classic style façade, outlined by long pilasters and a moulded framework on which the triangular pediment is placed; the inside is accessed by an embellished doorway. The simulacrum of the Saint with baby Jesus on the altar is extremely venerated.
